Asahi partially restarted the production of all six of its breweries in Japan after being forced to close them due to cyber-attack.

A few main stores in Japan, including 7-Eleven and Familymart, warned last week that they decrease in stocks of beer after the hack has affected the order and delivery systems of Asahi Group in the country.

Asahi is the largest brewery in Japan, but it also makes soft drinks and food, as well as supplies goods with brand to other retailers.

Partially restarted breweries produce the best-selling Asahi Super Dry, but the company also restarts plants that produce food and non-alcoholic beverages.

Cyber-Attack is the latest that has affected operations in large companies, with car manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover is still struggling to recover from an attack that closed the production.

Asahi Group also owns Fullers in the UK and global brands, including Peroni, Pilsner Urquell and Grolsch. However, only Asahi’s operations in Japan – which represent about half of his sales – are affected by the attack.

Asahi said that the open beer plants in Japan are “have not been fully operating again” and that two of his non -alcoholic beverages, which are partially open, also did not work with full capacity.

He added that there are five more soft drink factories that “will resume gradually in accordance with shipments”

All seven of its food plants have resumed operations, although they still do not work completely.

Asahi said that production systems in the factories were not affected by the cyber-attack, but it was forced to suspend production as it could not process orders and shipments.

The company added that its breweries have only been producing super dry and that from October 15 it will resume shipments of 16 products, including its Asahi Dry Zero and Asahi Zero, Clear Asahi and Whiskey Black Nikka Clear.

It says some products will also be delayed.
