Body found in Tesla Car associated with D4VD identified as a missing teenager

The decomposing body found in a car registered with a D4VD singer has been identified as a missing 15-year-old girl, US authorities say.

Police officers found the remains of Selesta Rivas inside the trunk of the detained Tesla on September 8 after responding to reports of a bad smell in the Hollywood court in Los Angeles.

Authorities said both the cause and the time of her death remain unknown.

Rivas from Lake Elsinor in California was 13 years old during her disappearance and was last seen on April 5, 2024, according to Flyer a missing man, quoted by CBS, an American partner of the BBC.

Early officers said Tesla was probably in the Hollywood court “A few days” before the remains are found.

The car, which has a Texas registration number, was drawn by the Hollywood hills after it was abandoned five days earlier.

The car was registered with 20-year-old David Anthony Burke, the official name of the singer D4VD.

Last week, the medical examination of Los Angeles County said the person whose remains were found was 5 feet 2 inches high (157cm) had a wavy black hair and wore a peak and black leggings.

He added that the remains had a tattoo on the right index finger, which reads: “Shh.”

The remains were not intact and it seemed that the girl had been dead for a long period of time, according to sources of law enforcement, quoted by NBC News.

D4VD, who has millions of followers on social media, is best known for his viral hits here with me and romantic murder.

He released his debut album in April and was on tour when the remains were found in Tesla. The planned show on the Seattle tour was canceled on Wednesday.

Police say D4VD is collaborating with the investigation.
