Burkina Faso refuses to take the deportes while the US stops issuing visas

Burkina’s military government has refused to take deportors from the United States as Washington has stopped visa issuance in the West African nation.

Foreign Minister Karamoko Jean-Marie Trare Tray asked whether the embassy’s decision was “blackmail” after he stated that he had rejected an American proposal to accept migrants from third countries.

Donald Trump’s administration turned to African countries as a destination for deportation of migrants as part of its immigration repression.

They are commenting on the US State Department and the Ministry of Interior Security.

Burkina’s leader Faso Captain Ibrahim Traore is shaped like a Pan-African champion facing Western imperialism.

His military government has taken power in a coup three years ago and has since have been frosty relations with Western nations.

Appearing on the state television operator RTB late on Thursday, the Foreign Minister asked, “Is this a way to put pressure on us? Is this a blackmail? Whatever it is … Burkina Faso is a place of dignity, destination, not an expulsion place.”

He said he had a meeting with the US Embassy on Wednesday, in which he rejected the proposal – that he said he had been done repeatedly – to accept deported.

Thursday, The US Embassy in the capital of Burkina Faso Owagadugu has announced on its website that it will temporarily pause by issuing visas for an immigrant, tourists, students and business travelers.

Instead, the residents of Burkina Faso will have to travel to the US Embassy in the capital of the neighboring Togo.

Foreign Minister Traore said he had received a diplomatic note from the United States, explaining that Burkina Faso was placed on a list of countries whose citizens did not follow the rules surrounding US visas and relate to US proposals, according to the transcript of the local information outlet.

Several African countries – Esvatini, Ghana, Rwanda and South Sudan – all have accepted people from third countries expelled from the United States in recent months.

On Monday, Eswatini accepted 10 deported despite the legal challengesAdding to a larger group of five, the United States had identified as serious criminals.

Trump’s detection aims to deport millions of immigrants to the United States illegally.

“Naturally, this proposal, which we considered indecent at that time, is completely contrary to the principle of dignity,” Traore added.
