It was just a month ago wicked started taking the world by storm, and it wasn’t long before we learned that the second half of it would now be gone Wicked: For well. Universal isn’t ready to reveal anything from the sequel, but that hasn’t stopped co-lead Cynthia Erivo from hyping some of the changes in the next film, especially the music.
In a recent appearance of diversity Awards Circuit podcast, Erivo talks about his approach to playing Elphaba, who eventually becomes the famous Wicked Witch. One thing he mentioned was working closely with Stephen Schwarz, composer of the play and film, to create a new song for his character. Without giving anything away, he teased “even the title will move you. I don’t know if you are ready for it. When we filmed it, the cast and crew were crying. […] I hope the audience is ready—this is a song that speaks to Elphaba’s heart.”
You may have forgotten, though Schwartz Said to have a pair of new songs in 2022 wicked In the second half “To see [storytelling’s] Claims.” The music changes from the first movie mainly concerned the characters or setting in that it was no longer a stage musical, but those songs were otherwise the same. Giving Elphaba and Glinda some new tunes kept things fresh and fleshed out for the movie and Ozzy fans. Evil: For good Seems more like an event. And it will make those new songs alluring when the film finally comes into its own sing-along version.
