Instagram users can now use Meta AI editing tools directly in IG Stories

Bringing meta AI-powered photo and video editing tools Directly in Instagram Stories, users can enter text prompts to add or remove things from photos and videos, or even change it entirely.

Although Meta already offers Image editing capabilities On Instagram, those tools were limited to interactions with the Meta AI chatbot. Adding text-based prompts to stories now makes these editing features more accessible.

The new features are available in the “Restyle” menu at the top of Instagram Stories when tapping on the paintbrush icon. To edit an image, choose “Add,” “Remove,” or “Change” in the prompt bar to describe what you want to change. For example, Meta explains, you can tell it to change your hair color, add a crown to your head, or insert a sunset background.

There are also preset effects that you can choose from that can change your outfit or change the style of the photo. For example, you can add items like sunglasses or a biker jacket, and you can also apply a watercolor effect to the image. For videos, you can make it look like snow or add flames

It’s important to note that when you’re using Meta AI on Instagram, you’re accepting Meta’s AI Terms of ServiceWhich allows your media and facial features to be analyzed by AI. According to these terms, when you upload your photos, Meta “may shorten the photo contents, modify the images, and create new content based on the photos.”

AI continues to introduce updates to stay competitive in the meta market. It was most recently the stain Testing a “Write with Meta AI” prompt that helps Instagram users make clever comments for posts.

Additionally, to address any concerns parents may have, Meta announcement Earlier this month it is introducing new parental control features that enable parents to disable chats with AI characters and monitor what their teens are discussing with the meta AI chatbot.
