The forces have increased their attack on the city of Gaza with a wave of heavy air strikes, marking a sharp escalation of previous military operations.

Unlike the larger phases of war, the current offensive relies largely on air bombing, with entire apartment blocks and large concrete structures being reduced to ruins.

The intensification of strikes in recent days has triggered a jump in civil displacement.

Israel has warned all residents of Gaza to leave immediately in anticipation of a huge offensive.

On Sunday, Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said about 250,000 people left the city and moved south. He also said it had destroyed a high -power building that said it was used “for progress and terrorist attacks” against its troops.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says the city is Hamas’s last major fortress. But the Gaza Occupation Plan brought international criticism.

The UN has warned the intensification of the offensive in an area where hunger has already been declared will push the civilians into a “even deeper crash”. Gaza is the largest urban center of the territory and a historical heart of the Palestinian political and social life.

Residents say that Israeli military is aimed at schools and improvised shelters, often issuing warnings only moments before bombing.

Many families have been forced to flee in darkness to Western Gaza.

“We escaped from certain death, my husband, our three children, and I,” said Sally Tuffees, the mother sheltering in the city. “My brother died in my hands after being shot by Quadcopter drone. We ran in the dark west of Gaza.”

The Israeli military told residents to evacuate south of the territory – but many families say they could not afford a trip, which costs up to $ 1,100 (£ 800). In the meantime, Hamas has intensified his calls for residents to remain placed and to oppose the departure of the city.

Rubane Khaled, the father of nine, preparing to move south, expressed powerlessness.

“Hamas’s preacher on Friday prayers accused anyone who leaves the city of Gaza for being a coward running from the battlefield,” he said.

“But why does he not tell Hamas leaders to betray and release Israeli hostages so that this war can stop? We do not want to leave, but we have no choice.”

Israeli forces have not yet reached some Eastern neighborhoods that remained largely intact after the worse attacks in January, but the current campaign suggests that they may now strive to dismantle entire areas.

Meanwhile, the Foreign Ministry spokesman categorically criticized Israel’s prime minister in an interview with the BBC this week of Israeli strike against Hamas employees in the Qatar capital Doha.

Foreign ministry spokesman Magend al-Antari told the BBC that the international community should “deal with a problem with Netanyahu.”

“He is not someone who is listening to anyone at the moment he listens to some reason. We have to stop him collectively in his tracks,” the employee said.

He argued the strike in Doha, showed that the Israeli leader “never intended to sign any peace deal” to end the war in Gaza and instead “believes that he can form the Middle East in his own image.”

Five of the group members and Catari security officer were killed at the strike on Tuesday – although the Palestinian armed group claims that senior leaders were not killed. Hamas members were in Doha to discuss the US most proposal in the United States to end fire in Gaza.

Israel faces a broad condemnation, Including the UN Security CouncilS Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel was targeting the “terrorist leaders” behind the Hamas attack October 7, 2023 against Israel.

Qatar Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani earlier said that Qatar did not receive a prior warning about the strike, receiving only a call from an official American 10 minutes after the start of the attack.

On Friday, Al Thani dinner with US President Donald Trump and his envoy Steve Vitcof in New York, having previously met with Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio in the White House.

Rubio is traveling to Israel this weekend at a solidarity show with Israel before a UN meeting later this month, which is expected to officially recognize the Palestinian state.

On Sunday, Hamas Health Ministry in Gaza said the bodies of 47 people killed by Israeli military arrived at his hospitals the previous day.

As the UN-backed global food security experts confirmed hunger in the city of Gaza on August 22, the ministry said at least 142 people were killed by starvation and malnutrition throughout the territory. Israel said it was expanding its efforts to facilitate the supply of assistance and challenged the data of the Ministry of Health regarding the death related to malnutrition.

The Israeli military launched their Gaza campaign in response to the Hamas attack on South Israel on October 7, 2023, which killed about 1200 people and 251 others were taken hostage.

At least 64 803 people have been killed in Israeli attacks in Gaza since then, according to the health ministry in the territory.
