Like All of Us, the WGA Dislikes Another Warner Bros. Merger

News of another potential merger has caused a lot of negative reaction, and now the Writers Guild of America has taken its own stance on the matter. Spoiler: They don’t like it.

In a joint statement from its eastern and western branches, the WGA said a merger of Warner Bros. with a major studio “would be a disaster for writers, for consumers and for competition. Post-merger mergers in the media industry have harmed workers, reduced competition and free speech, and wasted hundreds of billions of dollars that would have been better invested in organic growth.”

To date, Paramount has been the most surprising studio to acquire Warner Bros.
