New York elects its next mayor on Tuesday in a closely watched race with national implications.
Zohran Mamdani, a member of the state assembly and the Democratic Party candidate, is the favorite. He faces Republican Curtis Sliwa and former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who is trying to make a comeback after losing to Mamdani in the Democratic primary.
