ReutersMore NATO countries will move their troops and fighter jets to the east in response to the unprecedented Russian invasion of Russian drones in Polish airspace.
Denmark, France and Germany have joined a new mission to strengthen the Eastern Flank of the Military Union. Other NATO allies are expected to participate later.
It came when the Kremlin said on Friday that the peace negotiations with Kiev were on a “pause”, with spokesman Dmitry Peskov saying: “You cannot wear cups with pink toning and you expect that the negotiating process will give immediate results.”
Political tensions were high across Europe after Poland said 19 Russian drones flew through his airspace on Wednesday. Some were removed and others were hit in the flight and even a house in eastern Poland.

According to the Danish Ministry of Defense, Denmark will contribute two F-16 fighters to support the air defense of Poland and a warship.
“Denmark fully supports Poland in this situation,” said Prime Minister Met Fredericksen. “We should not be naive. Putin will not stop in front of anything and he tests us. Therefore, this is crucial … Denmark contributes to it.”
France will contribute to three Rafale fighters, and Germany will give four Europhitari.
The United Kingdom is “fully engaged” to help strengthen the Eastern Guard, a Ministry of Defense said, adding that it would soon provide more details.
On Friday, European countries – and the US – stood up to Poland during an emergency session of the UN Security Council in New York, discussing the invasion of the Russian drone.
“The United States is standing by our NATO allies over these anxious disorders of the airspace,” US Ambassador to UN Dorothy Shee said. “And be sure that we will protect every inch from NATO.
She added that as Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin had a summit in Alaska nearly a month ago to discuss Mira, “Russia has intensified its bombing campaign against Ukraine.”
As he turned to the UN on Friday, Poland’s Secretary of State Marcin Bosatsky held pictures of one of the drones and a damaged house.
“We know – we say – we know it was not a mistake,” he said.
The Netherlands and the Czech Republic have already stated that they will send defense to Poland while Lithuania will receive a German brigade and a greater warning about Russian attacks against Ukraine, which can be crossed.
Germany also said it would “strengthen its commitment to the eastern NATO border” and expand and expand the air police over Poland.
