A crew from the U.S. Air Force Reserve, known as “Hurricane Hunters,” flew through the eye of Hurricane Melissa on Monday to collect data for the National Hurricane Center. With winds of up to 175 mph (282 km/h), the category five hurricane is the world’s strongest storm for 2025. It is expected to make landfall in Jamaica late Monday or early Tuesday before moving across eastern Cuba and the Bahamas.
