Suspect by Charlie Kirk admitted in a note in front of the roommate, prosecutors say

The man accused of fatally shot Charlie Kirk admitted that he had killed his right -wing activist in a message to his roommate, prosecutors say, as they have declared seven charges against him.

The 22 -year -old Tyler Robinson left a note under a keyboard so that his roommate can find, said Utah Djefre Grey County Prosecutor. He added that the roommate is the romantic partner of the defendant.

According to G -n Gray, the note says, “I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and take it.”

The prosecutor also shared text messages between the roommates, including one in which the defendant claims to have shot Kirk because he “had enough of his hatred”.

The suspect is conducted without guarantee in a special residential detachment in the prison of Utah County. He appeared his first appearance on Tuesday, appearing remotely as prosecutors read the seven accusations against him.

The charges are aggravated killings, a firearm crime, two accusations of obstructing justice, two charges of forcing witnesses and committing a violent crime when children are present.

They also said they would seek the death penalty for shooting Kirk, who was killed by a rifle fired from a roof while he was talking at the University of Utah Valley on Wednesday.

Arrested last week after a 33-hour Mannth, the defendant did not go on a legal basis or acknowledged with the police. The prosecutor also stressed that the accused was innocent until it was proven to be guilty and would be faced with a court proceedings.

He revealed a lot of evidence at a press conference on Tuesday, including the alleged recognition of the defendant and the DNA found at the trigger of the rifle, which was suspected of being used in the crime.

Describing the alleged hidden note at a press conference earlier on Tuesday, Gi Gray said the defendant sent a text message to his roommate, reading: “Play what you do, look under my keyboard.”

G -n Gray cites a more increasing exchange of text messages between the defendant and his roommate, whom he described as his romantic partner. Authorities said the roommate was a transgender and switched from male to female.

In a replacement, the roommate asked the defendant why he killed Kirk.

The defendant also claims that he wrote: “To be honest, I hoped to keep this secret until I die of old age. I’m sorry to include you.”

The roommate replied, “You were not the one who did it correctly ????”

G -n Gray also gave more details about how the defendant’s parents became suspicious that their son may have participated in the murder of Charlie Kirk.

He said the mother had seen a video of a suspect released the day after the shooting and told her husband that she looked like their son. She encountered her son on the phone about the resemblance, said G -n Gray, but he told her that he was home sick on the day of the shooting.

Later, the father was confronted with the defendant, who answered, hinting that he could take his life, the prosecutor said.

The suspect was eventually convinced to come to his parents’ house and while he was there, he allegedly hinted that he was the attacker. He then said he wanted to “stop” him and not go to prison, said G -N Gray.

With the help of a family friend, who is a retired deputy Sharif, his parents convinced him to surrender to the police and he was arrested late Thursday – 33 hours after the shooting.

The suspect also told his parents that “there is too much evil and the man is spreading too much hatred”, in a reference to Kirk, according to the prosecution.

The mother told investigators that her son had become more political in recent years, said G -n Gray, becoming more firming the rights of gay and transsexuals and going into relationships with a transsexual person.

But the prosecutor refused to answer when asked if Kirk was directed to his transgender views. “This is the hearing to decide,” he said.

G -n Gray said that the conservative influence answers a question about the mass shootings committed by transgender individuals when a rifle launch. The bullet hit Kirk in the neck and he immediately descended to the ground.

The defendant is also accused of forcing witnesses, prosecutors said as he directed his partner to delete their messages and remain silent if he was questioned.
