The Duchess of York was removed as the patron saint of the Children’s Charity after the advent of an email in which she called the sexual criminal Jeffrey Epstein her “supreme friend”.

Julia’s House, a charity organization for children’s hospice, serving families in Dorset and Wiltshire, has removed Sarah Ferguson, Prince Andrew’s ex -wife, from her role as a patron.

“Following the information shared this weekend of the correspondence of the Duchess of York with Jeffrey Epstein, Julia’s House has decided that it would be inappropriate to continue as the patron saint of the charity,” said a spokesman for the charity.

“We have advised the Duchess of this decision and thank her for her previous support.”

A spokesman for the Duchess said she did not comment on the charity decision.

Another charity organization “Teen Cancer Trust”, who has the Duchess as a patron, says she is currently reviewing the situation.

The end of the charity organization of Julia’s House of his ties to the Duchess follows the publication of an email from her to Epstein in 2011, which appears to have been sent after she has publicly interrupted contact with him.

The email seems to apologize privately for her public rejection to Epstein, saying, “You have always been an unwavering, generous and supreme friend to me and my family.”

This seems to be contrary to her public denunciation of Epstein in an interview earlier that year, in which she said her participation in it was a “giant mistake in judgment” and that “what she did is wrong and for which he is rightly closed.”

A spokesman for the Duchess said that her subsequent email to Epstein, describing him as a friend, was sent because she tried to oppose him to judge her for slander – and that she still regrets every association with him.

“This email was sent to the context of the advice to which the Duchess was given to try to calm Epstein and his threats,” said a statement by her speaker over the weekend when the email to Epstein was published.

Email exchanges were several years after Epstein’s prison for sexual crimes in 2008.

The Duchess became the patron saint of the Charity Organization of Julia’s House in 2018 and had visited one of his hospices, although it seems to have now been removed from the website, no longer appeared with other patrons, which include football manager Eddie How, actor Nigel Havers and designer Jasper Konran.

The hospice charity helps children with “shortening life and life -threatening conditions”, supporting them and their families.
