In a Facebook publication, she described the scene that met sorrows, entering the grave, saying, “From the entrance to the end, the boots of the car were open, people drink, and the cemetery looked like shelves, not a place to rest.”

She also said that the cemetery was left in a pitiful condition, with bottles and boxes remaining lying around.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the city of Windhoek said it was “unacceptable”, adding that “this neglects the dignity of the dead (s) disrupts other grieving families.”

He also reminded the residents that leaving waste or waste behind the cemetery was a criminal crime and said that there would be “strict monitoring and implementation” to preserve the funeral sites.

“The cemeteries are sacred spaces, preserved only for funerals and a memory of the deceased,” the message said.

“Social gatherings, alcohol consumption and waste within the cemeteries are strictly prohibited.”

This is not the first time Gammams make titles. In 2021, a man was arrested after a circulated video showing him that he had fired shots during a funeral held there.
