“We are turning the tide of the hunger crisis in Gaza”

The head of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) told the BBC that the surge is leading to starvation in Gaza as more aid enters the territory following Donald Trump’s ceasefire deal.

Speaking from Gaza City, Tom Fletcher said “hundreds of trucks a day” were already entering the coastal enclave, but warned it was a “huge” job to get vital supplies to those in need.

He also called on the international community to support efforts to provide one million meals a day and to activate the health sector.
