This means that by just rolling over the 50-kilogram floor pad, owners will be able to get a full charge in the electric SUV in 11 hours or more, with no need to physically plug in the 108-kWh battery overnight.

But how do you line up on that floor pad and get it in the right place to start charging when you can’t see the black slab as it rolls out of your line of sight as you roll toward the pad? Porsche has naturally tried to use a cabin central screen that flicks on a camera feed covered with red and green lines for guidance, and a green circle to help you aim for that 11-kilowatt charging sweet spot.
