At least 30 people have died in Beijing and over 80,000 have been evacuated for safety, the Chinese authorities said as heavy rains and floods devastate roads and houses in northern China.

Eight other people died after a landslide on Monday in Chende, about three o’clock northeast of Beijing.

China is engaged in the summer of extreme time. The record heat waves struck the eastern region of the country earlier this month as the floods swept to the southwest of the country.

Against the backdrop of mass floods in northern China, President Jinping called for “all” rescue efforts and told the authorities to prepare for “the worst cases and extreme scripts”.

“Efforts should not be spared to search and rescue the missing or trapped, to transfer and move residents to the affected areas and to reduce victims to the largest extent,” the president said on Monday.

Chinese authorities have allocated 200 million yuan ($ 28 million; £ 21 million) for recovery efforts, including transport repair and other infrastructure.

The outskirts of Beijing, including the suburban neighborhoods of Myun and Huaru, were most affected by the torrential rain.

The floods have damaged dozens of roads and violated the power of more than 130 villages. Videos show rescuers who move in deep chest flooders to reach residents of housing, as well as helicopters and drones that ferry food and other help for the disaster area.

Da Jan, who works in Hebay Province, told the BBC Chinese that he is very worried about his family, who lives in the Muyun region, one of the areas most striking the floods.

As of Sunday, she has failed to contact her parents and grandfather, who everyone suffers from health problems and has limited mobility. Her family also took care of her pets: eight cats and three dogs.

Their village is small and remote, with only about 10 households, she said, adding that she was afraid that rescuers could miss it completely. From despair, she led to social media to please rescue, hoping to be found soon.

Residents of the areas affected by the floods recalled how quickly the disaster unfolded.

“The Flood came in, as it rushed, just like that, so quickly and suddenly,” said Juang Jellyn, owner of a shop in Taishitun, near Beijing, “Press told the Associated Press. “In no time, the place was full.”

Juang’s neighbor told the Associated Press that when the floods came, he “just ran up and waited for a rescue.”

“I remember thinking that if no one came to take us, we would have come into real problems,” he said.

Beijing is no stranger to the flood, especially at this time of year. One of the most deadly in the recent memory happened in July 2012, when 190 mm rain blew the city in one day, killing 79 people.

This summer, floods caused chaos in the elimination of China.

Two people were killed and 10 people disappeared in Shandong Province earlier this month when Typhoon VIFA struck Eastern China. Two weeks earlier, a landslide killed three people in the town of Yang, southwestern China.

The extreme time that experts associate with climate change is increasingly threatened by the residents and economy of China – especially in the agriculture of trillion dollars.

Natural disasters in the first half of the year have cost China 54.11 billion yuan ($ 7.5 billion; $ 5.7 billion), the Ministry of Emergency Management said earlier this month. The flood was more than 90% of the losses, the ministry noted.
