7 features extremely successful people like Taylor Swift Share: They are “unicorns”, says expert

As with many of her fans, Taylor Swift and her discography have long been an important part of my personal story. She even became an unexpected source of inspiration during a career transition.

I left my job as an aerospace engineer and human space flight designer in NASA to pursue MBA at Harvard University, a shift that ultimately led to my current path as an economist and investor.

In Harvard, I started thinking about Swift’s trip through a professional lens. I was driven by a key question: how at first glance normal people do extraordinary things? How do they turn into these ultra successful unicorns?

After reading an excellent book by a legal scientist and documentary player Paul Davis, “”Specialized: The case of engagement in the era of endless surfing“I began to recognize a number of characteristics that these extremely successful people have in common.

In particular, there are seven features that Swift regularly demonstrates.

1. Imagination

We are all born of imagination, but as we age, we often place restrictions between our minds and the creative incentives in the world around us.

Not fast. It turns small sparks like a phrase, feeling, eavesdropped line into whole worlds. A great way to do the same is by starting to better notice the fragments that catch your eye. Ask yourself why and then save them.

Swift understands that the imagination begins not with the invention, but with curiosity. It is great in paying attention to the smallest, the most resonanced details and builds universes of them.

2. Synthesis

This is the ability to connect new and old ideas and thoughts through creativity. Creating synthesis requires courage because the resumption of the world or doing things in ways that others are not is not easy.

SWIFT’s record for synthesis speaks for itself. Her iconic song “Death from a Thousands,” was actually inspired by the failure of the main character’s relationship in the romantic comedy “Someone Great.”

But the most famous example of Swift’s skill for synthesis is a “love story”. She reincarnated and rethought the romantic Shakespeare tragedy of Romeo and Juliet in a history with a life, happy ending.

3. Focus

The focus is to turn your goal part of your very being. Swift has not launched a makeup line or fashion brand. You do not see her deal with things that are not important to her. The performance and writing of songs have been its main priorities since he was a teenager.
