A British man arrested in the US accused of trying to drown a daughter -in -law in a pool

A British man has been accused of attempting murder after being claimed to have tried to drown his daughter -in -law in a swimming pool in Florida.

62 -year -old Mark Gibban was on vacation with his family at the resort of Selterra in Davenport, near Walt Disney World Resort, when disagreeing over his grandchildren erupted, said the sheriff department of Polk County.

Mr. Giben, by Becksfield in Buckinghamshire, has been accused of pushing and retaining the head of a 33-year-old woman underwater repeatedly, prevented her from breathing.

He is accused of attempting second -degree murder and two battery.

Sheriff Grady Jude said in a statement: “It’s great that Polk County attracts visitors from all over the world, but we expect vacationers to behave while visiting us, just as we expect our residents throughout their lives to do the same.

“Since G -N Giben could not control his anger, he may turn out to be spending much more time in Florida than he had expected.”

The woman told employees that the couple had begun to argue about their grandchildren while in the holiday pool for rent before he tried to drown her.

Then a young girl jumped into the pool in an attempt to stop G -H Gibon from drowning the woman, the Sheriffe office said.

G -N Giben is only accused of stopping when two sisters who rest in the neighborhood said they called the sheriff’s office.

He was arrested and taken to Polk County Prison, the Sheriff’s Service said.
