A sentence is expected to be in Wendesday in the case of Joel Le Squarnak, the former surgeon who acknowledged sexual abuse of hundreds of patients, mainly between 1989 and 2014.

The 74 -year -old Le Scouarnec is called French’s most fruitful pedophile. He has already been imprisoned after being sentenced in December 2020 to 15 years for rape and sexual assault over four children, including two of his nephews.

He is now facing an additional maximum sentence of 20 years.

The former doctor has been tested in Brittany since the end of February. During this time, dozens of his victims testified, telling the court how the abuse they suffered as the children shape their lives.

In March, during a session held behind closed doors, Le Scouarnec acknowledged sexual abuse of all 299 victims, many of them while under anesthesia or wake up after surgery.

He led diaries describing the attacks with graphic details that allowed the police to follow his victims – many of whom had no memory of the abuse they suffered while in the care of Le Scoar.

The former surgeon acknowledged the allegations during a session held behind closed doors in March.

“I can no longer look at myself in the same way because I am a pedophile and a children’s rapist,” Le Squiairnek said during his last statements before the court last week.

“Many things have been said. It is not necessary to remember everything now. I will no doubt return to me when I am in my cell, but what I witness (in court) is the suffering I am responsible for,” he said.

He added that he neither wanted nor expected to receive any leniency.

Earlier this month He also said he was “responsible” for the death of two victims Whose relatives say he died of suicide after the trauma of being sexually attacked by Le Surnek when they were children.

The grandparents of one of them, Matthias Vinet, who died four years ago, told the BBC about “Downing to Hell” tested by his grandson When police revealed to him that his name had appeared in one of the diaries.

The process caused Fury that Le Surnek has been abused for more than fifteen years and that he was allowed to continue to treat children, despite the 2005 sentence to withdraw pedophile images.

The victims of Joel Le Squarnak’s collective group complained that the process failed to attract the attention of politicians and society as a wholeS

“No lesson has been extracted from this, neither the medical world nor from the politicians,” the group said. Several casualties were protesting before the Court of Justice before the sentence was executed Wednesday afternoon.

Catherine, the victim’s mother, said on the day of the sentence that this was the first time he saw so many journalists covering the process and added that he believed that the victims were forgotten.

“This is regret, but I hope that now our message can be conveyed. Not for the generation that is hurt, but for my grandchildren,” she said, adding that she hopes the institutions will “react”.

Le Scouarnec, who was present in court every day of the 14-week process, has repeatedly apologized for his “rebellious” acts.

“I’ve never seen tears flowing on his cheeks,” said the victim Manon Lemain

Many of his victims were left unnoticed by his behavior. “His words are always the same, in the same tone, I do not see sincerity in them,” Luis-Marie said, 35 years before the BBC. “The only thing I hope he does not do more harm to society … that he remains locked.”

“I have never seen tears flowing on his cheeks,” said another victim named Manon Lemin.

But Maxim Theesier, one of Le Scouarnec’s lawyers, said he believed his client was sincere. “He was very excited during this process … It was very important for him to admit as he did. It was a moment of truth and justice.”

The Tessier also pointed to the finger to the medical establishment, which civil parties accused of not doing more to stop Le Surnek from practicing medicine, even when rumors of his pedophilia spread widely.

“No one acknowledged responsibility until all the victims said that not only a person did this – but also the system that left him to do it,” he told the BBC.

The National Order of Doctors (CNOM), who also filed a lawsuit against Le Shuchank, said in March that he “expressed deep regret” as the former surgeon had to be “prevented from practicing.”

“This situation emphasized the poor communication between the different formations of the Order of Doctors and we are deeply sorry for it,” they said in a statement.
