His cousin Ajay Valgie said that he called his family to say it was “good”, but he did not know his brother’s whereabouts, also called Ajai, who was on the plane with him.
The incident on Thursday was the first fatal disaster featuring 787 Dreamliner, first introduced in 2011.

He lost contact with the air traffic control shortly after, breaking just beyond the perimeter of the airport.

The site of the crash is located in a medical campus with 10 specialized centers. The BBC Sachin Pithva describes the scenes of chaos, with rescue workers extracting the remains of the dead.
The tight smoke was still rising from the buildings hours after the crash, and the passengers’ passports were scattered around, he said.
The additional Secretary of Health of Gujarat has confirmed that the aircraft has hit the hostel of students and employees of the Medical College byramjee Jeejeebhoy and the Civil Hospital.
