An explosion of steel plants in Pennsylvania kills 1, hurts 10

An explosion killed one person and wounds 10 others in the US steel Clarton plant outside Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Monday, employees say.

The main search and rescue operation continues for another person who is not reported and is thought to be under debris.

The officials said they did not yet know the cause of the explosion and asked the locals to keep their windows closed with smoke in the area.

The plant is the largest opera operation in North America and is located about 15 miles (24 km) south of Pittsburgh.

Governor Josh Shapiro has published on social media that the state -owned emergency services and the police were located at the plant.
