Integrated Development Environment (IDE) Android Studio is getting an AI upgrade for Android App Developers, Google announces at that Developer Conference, Google I/O 2025Tuesday.
In addition to the latest Gemi 2.5 Pro model rollout, a new “agent AI” called Android Studio Journey is gaining capacity and will soon introduce a “agent mode” for more complex development work.
Using the gemini, the travelers will allow developers to test their app by describing the verb and view of the natural language for user travel throughout the application. Jemi will then perform the tests for you.
The feature, Google explains, will allow developers to test their apps more easily, not writing a wide code to do this. The company warned that it was still experimental, but in the end, the goal is to increase the speed of high quality code shipping and reduce the time to test, validate or reproduce the problems.
Tests can run on physical or virtual Android devices and their results will appear directly to IDE, Google says.

Also, Google will now allow developers to try to try experimental AI features in a new “Studio Labs” menu in the Android Studio Settings menu. This option can only be found in stable release, starting with the release codonamed Narwal.
Another available test now is the universal preview of Android Studio Cloud. Accessed through Firebes Studios, the new service streams a Linux machine driven to Android Studios in your web browser, enables Android development anywhere you have access to any internet connection.
A version upgraded agent will soon appear as part of Jemini in Android Studios to help depending on dependence upgrades.
