Dozens of bus passengers in Ethiopia are abducted by armed men in the largest region of the country, Orom as they traveled from the capital, Adis Abba.

The details are only the appearance of the abductions that took place earlier this week.

The incident happened to Ali Doro who is near an area where about 100 students were abducted similarly As they were heading to their home since their campus last July.

The survivors and local authorities have accused these abductions of the Oromo Liberation Army (Ola), a rebel group operating in the area. The group denied participation at that time.

Referring to the incident this week, Ola said she had received reports of abduction and that he was “investigating”.

According to a report by the local media organization, passengers have headed for Deter Marcos, a city in the Amhara region in the country, when they were attacked by armed men who exchange fire with local security forces.

Another report is said that several buses were attacked, during which at least one person was killed. The number of abductors can reach 50, according to this report.

The government has not yet said anything about the abductions and attempts by the BBC to receive a formal answer failed.

Civilian abductions – including passengers – are becoming more common in the area. The armed groups here in the past wanted a ransom for the release of the people they possess.

Ola says she is fighting for the self-determination of the largest ethnic group in Ethiopia-Osomo.

It is classified as a terrorist organization by the Federal Parliament and operates in various areas in Oroom, including the area where Ali Doro is located.
