Army patrol streets of Kathmandu after fierce protests

Charlotte Skar to the BBC reported from Kathmandu, where thousands of protesters took to the streets to protest against corruption and universal.

The unrest began when the government banned 26 social media platforms, including WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook – but then turned to embody the dissatisfaction with Nepal’s political elite.

During the weeks before the banning campaign for the Break, projecting the lavish lifestyle of the children of politicians and accusations of corruption, they took off on social media.

The prime minister resigned as the homes of politicians were vandalized, government buildings were burned and parliament was lit.

More than 20 people have died in the excitement of Monday.

On Wednesday, the capital looked calm as the army patrolled the streets.
