At least 10 die at Crush outside the stadium in Bengaluru, India

At least 10 people were killed in a crush outside the cricket stadium in the Indian city of Bengaluru, which hosted a victory parade to celebrate the victory of the Indian team title.

Thousands of people – young and old – lined the streets on Wednesday to welcome the royal competitors Bengaluru (RCB), who defeated the Kings of Pengjab at the IPL Cricket Finals the previous day.

“About 10 people were killed in the print of the gates at Chinavasi Stadium,” a senior police officer told BBC Hindi.

When the tragedy struck, the gates at the stadium “were not even open, but there were so many people trying to push a small gate that the stamp had taken place,” an employee said.

A police officer told the BBC that there were over 200,000 people who came out for the victory parade, but they were expecting only half that amount.

The RCB team arrived with a special flight at Old Hal Airport, which will be received by Deputy Minister of Karnatak DK Shivakumar. They were taken to the procession to the hotel.

It was the precursor to the acceptance of the steps of the majestic species of Suda, the seat of the state legislative body, where governor Tauarnd Gelo, Chief Minister Siddaramaya and other ministers met with the team.

The team was then planned to drive again in the procession to the stadium before the crush happened.

Prior to the incident, the masses of people from different parts of the city had headed for the stadium of all modes of transport bearing RCB T -shirts.

The subway trains were so packed that several people – including this reporter – were unable to enter a ward. All this while the passengers on the train and outside chanted the name of the team in Chorus.

Auto Rickshaws and taxis did not respond to requests from people who want to be released anywhere near the stadium. Those who agreed to release the travelers a few kilometers.

After reports of people who lose their lives in the spread of crush, people began to rush to the metro stations.

Authorities closed the stations around the stadium as huge crowds gathered on the platforms.
