Australian senator revealed a dead salmon in a plastic bag while talking in parliament, as a sign of a bill.

The bill brought by the Government of Prime Minister Anthony Albanese would limit the public’s ability to review and challenge environmental decisions, but says it is part of a workplace protection plan in salmon agriculture.

Some politicians and environmental groups question the practice of salmon farms in Tasmania, accusing them of watering pollution.

Tasmania is home to Maugean Skate, an endangered fish that lives in the harbor of Macquari, and environmentalists are concerned about how pollution can affect them.

The Green Party Senator Sarah Hanson-Yang has accused the Labor Party of being “sold out of your eco-friendly powers” while she owned the fish.

Senate President Sue Lines called on Hanson-Yang to remove the “support” from the House.
