BBC joins French troops in a peacekeeping operation in Lebanon

The BBC gain rare access to surgery by French troops, part of the UN peacekeeping forces in Lebanon, known as Unifil, as they are looking for positions used by the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah to attack Israel.

As part of the cessation of fire reached in November, a conflict ended in 13 months, Hezbolla has agreed to remove its fighters and weapons from South Lebanon.

Israel says he attacks the members and positions of Hezbollah and that the presence of his soldiers is to guarantee the security of the northern Israeli communities.

The Lebanese government says this is a violation of the agreement and a violation of the country’s sovereignty and called on the international community to put pressure on Israel to withdraw its troops from these places and to suspend its attacks.
