Former US President Joe Biden’s assistants have abandoned a new book that blames his White House inner circle of concealing his “physical deterioration” during his unfortunate re -election campaign.

According to the book “Initial Sin”, Biden’s condition during his presidential start in 2024 is so poor that assistants who discussed to put him in a wheelchair.

A spokesman for the 82 -year -old Biden said “evidence of aging is not proof of mental inability” and maintains that the democrat is a “very effective president”.

The book, by Jake Tapper of CNN and Alex Thompson of Axios, is due on May 20.

Biden sharply ended his campaign for re -election last July shortly after his catastrophic debate against Donald Trump, a Republican.

The party insiderrs accused him of leaving the race too late, leaving his deputy, Vice President Kamala Harris, 107 days to challenge Trump, who swept to Victory.

Before the release of the book Biden last week gave his first interview after leaving the White House to the BBCSaying, “I don’t think it would matter if he had left the race earlier.

While the book largely cites anonymous sources in interviews with more than 200 people, one of the few cited in the record is David Pluf, who works on the Vice President Harris campaign.

“We were so fucked by Biden as a party,” says the book Plouffe.

The authors write: “The physical deterioration of Biden – most clear in stopping his walk – became so difficult that there were internal discussions about putting the president in a wheelchair, but they couldn’t do it after the election.

“Given the age of Biden, (his doctor Kevin O’Connor) also said that if there is another bad fall, a wheelchair may be required for what can be a difficult recovery,” the book adds.

Biden’s physical condition has decreased so much, the authors said that the assistants have sought to ensure that he is going short distances, uses railings when mounting stairs, and more often wearing training.

At that time, Biden’s assistants repeatedly told reporters that his changed gait was due to a broken leg in November 2020 and his subsequent refusal consistently wore his prescribed surgical shoe.

In a statement to Axios, Biden’s anonymous helper said, “Yes, there were physical changes when he is old, but the evidence of aging is not proof of mental inability.”

The spokesman added: “We are still waiting for someone, someone, to indicate where Joe Biden had to make a presidential decision or make a presidential address when he failed to do his job because of a mental decline.

“In fact, the evidence shows the opposite – he was a very effective president.”

Tapper and Thompson’s book also says that Biden did not recognize George Clooney in the star raising funds in California last June, hosting the Hollywood star.

“Thank you for being here,” Biden said to the Clooney at the event, she is obviously not aware that he was talking to the Oscar award winner.

“Do you know George,” Biden’s assistant said, as he struggles to work out Clooney’s identity.

Not long after, the incident Clooney wrote an opinion on The New York Times, calling for Biden to leave the race. The actor was one of the first major donors to publicly withdraw their support.

The book also claims that Biden has forgotten the names of veterans assistants, including a reliable loyalist Mike Donilon, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and White House Director Kate Bedinfield.
