Former Chicago White owner Sox Bobby Jenx died at the age of 44 from a rare form of stomach cancer.

Jenx was a two-time All-Star owner for Chicago White Sox and was part of the team that ended his 88-year wait for the 2005 World series title.

He threw the final pitch of the match in the fourth game of the series while White Sox defeated Houston Astros.

“We have lost an emblematic member of White Sox’s family,” White Sox Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf said in a statement.

“None of us will ever forget everything Bobby has done about the 2005 World Series Champions and the entire SOX organization during his time in Chicago.”
