Brian Wilson, the legendary frontman and co-founder of Beach Boys, died at the age of 82, his family said.
“We are heartbroken to announce that our beloved father Brian Wilson has died,” his family says in a statement shared online.
“We’re at a loss for words right now,” they added.
“Please respect your confidentiality at this time as our family that grieves. We realize that we are sharing our grief with the world.”
Born in 1942 and grew up in Hawthorne, California, Wilson set up a group with his younger brothers Carl and Dennis, cousin Mike Lav and friend Al Jardin.
They will become one of the largest rock bands in the country – Beach Boys.
In February 2024 it was revealed that there was dementia.
