Carney meets with Macron on a first foreign visit as PM

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney met with French President Emmanuel Macron to discuss the partnership and support of the countries for Ukraine.

During a press conference, Carney described Canada as the “cheapest of non-European countries” and said it hoped Europe would work “enthusiastic” with Canada.

Macron described both nations as “peaceful forces” as he vowed to protect Ukraine from new Russian aggression.
