Chloe Male will become the best editor at American Vogue after Dam Anna Wintour gave way to the editor-in-chief, the newspaper announced.
The 39-year-old, the daughter of actress Candice Bergen, has made her way up the fashion magazine, has been ranked in the last 14 years to become editor of Vogue.com and host the podcast of The Run Through.
The appointment of Male marks a new era for the magazine, considered one of the most influential and glamorous fashion publications.
Wintour, born in the British fashion tycoon, has announced that he has left the role in June after holding the position of 37 years. The magazine said it would retain higher positions of its publisher.
In a statement that reported the news, Male said she had spent her entire career at Vogue working on any platform.
“Vogue has already shaped who I am, now I’m excited about the prospect of shaping Vogue,” she said.
Wintour said Male was skillful to find the balance between Vogue’s “Long Story” and his future “on the front lines of the new”.
“I am so excited to continue working with her as her mentor, but also as a student, while she leads us and our audience where we have never been,” Wintour said.
During her term in Vogue, according to the announcements, Malley was responsible for securing the photo shoot of Naomi Biden for her wedding at the White House in 2022, as well as an interview with Lauren Sanchez before his wedding as Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos.
Before starting at Vogue, Malle covered real estate for the observer in New York. Her next concert as a freelance writer brought her to Vogue, where she began a full -time position as a social editor in 2011.
“I was a hesitant when I interviewed because fashion is not one of my main interests in life and wanted to be a writer more than an editor, but I was so seduced by the Vogue machine that I could not resist,” Male told the publication in the voice in 2013.
Like her predecessor, Dam Anna, Male did not deviate from politics while in Vogue.
Both in her social media and in her podcast, she supported democratic causes and candidates.
During the episode of her podcast in 2024, which aired after Donald Trump was re -elected president of the United States, Male expressed his disappointment with an elected result.
It is not clear exactly when the transition from Dam Anna to Male as the head of the magazine will be, but the 75-year-old does not completely leave the picture.
Dam Anna will remain the CEO of the content of the Condé Nast publisher, a role to which it was appointed in 2020, which means that it will still observe the content of Vogue, along with other company titles such as GQ, Wired and Tatler.
