The 25-year-old LA content creator has been away since the last episode of seven season after a 2015 video for Botox treatment reappeared.
Fans have shared and criticized the Instagram publication, which contained a shame for Chinese.
In a statement, Sierra’s parents said she was the goal of a hatred campaign and called for compassion.
Sierra’s parents, who run her social media while in the villa, said she and her relatives had received threats and “cruel messages”.
Describing the fall as “one of the most painful weeks of our lives,” they said that no one had earned the hatred that Sierra had not received.
“We are not here to justify or ignore what appears,” they wrote.
“We understand why people are upset and we know that accountability matters. But what is happening online at the moment has exceeded it.”
“No one deserves this kind of hatred, no matter what mistakes they have made.”

BBC Newsbeat contacted Peacock, the creators of Love Island USA, for comment.

The departure of Sierra follows that of the colleague of islander Julisa Escobar, who left the show after videos on her, using a racial stick in a podcast in 2021. He reappeared.
Later, Julissa apologized, saying that on Instagram she used the offensive term “ignorant, without fully understanding the weight, history or pain behind it.”
She followed her apology with a second post, saying she had received threats to death and that he “returned to Varzona” after leaving the villa.
“I took the time to think, learn and grow,” she said.
“Growth means recognizing when you are wrong, even if it is uncomfortable and choose to move forward with humility and accountability.”
