Commercial conversations between the US and China are “a little stagnant,” said US Secretary of Finance Scott Bensten.

His comment comes less than three weeks after a temporary commercial truce was agreed between the two largest economies in the world, with the two agreed to reduce the tariffs for Tit-Za-Ta.

Bestent told Fox News on Thursday: “I think that given the degree of conversations, given the complexity, it will require (leaders of both sides) to weigh each other.”

The global regime of Donald Trump’s tariffs was applied Wednesday after the decision that he had exceeded his authority. His plans were temporarily restored after the White House appealed the decision.

Both the US and China have confirmed that they will reduce the tariffs imposed on the import of the other earlier this month after talks in Switzerland.

The deal included both countries, which completely cancel some rates and stop others for 90 days until May 14.

Bestent said the conversations about an additional deal had lost their speed, but stressed that they were ongoing.

“I believe that in the next few weeks we will have more conversations with (China) and I believe that at one point we can call between the president and (Chinese President Jinping),” Bechent said on Thursday.

He added that the couple had “very good relationships” and was “confident that the Chinese would come to the table when President Trump made their preferences.”

Under The deal reached earlier this monthThe US has lowered the rates imposed on goods from China from 145% to 30%.

Chinese revenge rates for goods in the United States dropped from 125% to 10%.

The US president claims that the imposition of tariffs on foreign goods will encourage US consumers to buy more goods created by Americans by returning jobs in production while increasing the amount of tax revenue raised.

They were used by the Trump administration as a lever in negotiations as it seeks to reduce the trade deficit with other countries.

A delegation from Japan continues commercial conversations with their colleagues in the United States in Washington on Friday.

Bestent said the “couple” of trade deals are “very close”, but “several of them are more complicated.”

Trump’s tariff regime remains in balance following the US Court of Commerce’s decision, which has ruled Trump has exceeded its power by imposing the obligationsS

Some analysts believe that this will mean that the countries will be less likely to rush to provide trade deals with the United States.

The Federal Court of Appeal gave an offer from the White House to temporarily suspend the order of the lower court, which Trump described as “horrifying”.

“We hope that the Supreme Court will turn this terrible, state (SIC) threatening decision, quickly and decisively,” he wrote on his social platform for the truth.
