Australian actress Deborah-Lee Fernes said that “her compassion is coming to all who have passed the traumatic journey of betrayal” after applying for a divorce from her husband Hugh Jackman.
In a statement published in the media, the 69 -year -old Fernes said, “This is a deep wound that cuts deeply, but I believe in higher power and that God/the universe … always works for us.”
The couple applied for a divorce in New York on May 23. They announced their separation in September 2023 after 27 years of marriage.
Hugh Jackman, best known for playing Wolverine in the X-Men movie series, did not respond directly to Furness’s statement.
Fersis said she had acquired “a lot of knowledge and wisdom” from the “disintegration” of her marriage to Jackman, 56.
“Sometimes the universe must create difficult circumstances in order to walk in order to find our path to home, to return to our true self and sovereignty of ourselves.”
“This can hurt, but in the long run, return to yourself and live within your own whole, values and boundaries is Liberation and Freedom,” she added in the statement first issued to the Daily Mail.
When Furness and Jackman announced their separation in 2023, The couple issued a joint statement Which they said was “the only statement that each of us will make.”
“Our journey is now shifting and we decided to split up to pursue our individual growth … We take this next chapter with gratitude, love and kindness,” they said at that time.
The couple met on the set of the Australian television show Corelli in 1995, shortly after Jackman left the dramatic school.
The following year, two children adopted later.
Ever since Furness has released the statement, Jackman, who is currently appearing in New York, has posted a video on Instagram, in which he skips to the song of NSYNC Song bye bye.
