US President Donald Trump says he has ordered the Ministry of Justice to submit some additional documents related to sexual criminal Jeffrey Epstein.
“Based on the ridiculous general publicity given to Jeffrey Epstein, I asked Pam Bondi General Prosecutor to present all and all the relevant testimony of the great jury, subject to court,” Trump said in a social media publication.
It is unclear whether Trump authorizes the public release of these documents or when this may come – although such actions usually require court approval.
The development comes after days of constant pressure from some of Trump’s most loyal supporters, requiring additional revelations in the Epstein case.
Prosecutor General Pam Bondi published minutes after the President: “We are ready to move the court tomorrow to unleash the transcripts of the big jury.”
A large jury is a group of citizens created by a prosecutor to determine if there is sufficient evidence to raise the accusations. Legally, it determines whether there is a probable reason to believe that a crime has been committed.
The decisions of the large hearing must still be tested before the normal court hearing in the court in order to convict a suspect of a crime.
It is unclear whether the president’s publication refers to the testimony of the big jury of the first set of Epstein cases in the early 2000s or whether it came from the federal charges raised in 2019. The BBC.
Some jury documents have already been published on the Florida case in 2006, which led to the fact that he was accused of summoning a prostitute. The case was severely criticized for the lack of serious accusations and the severity of the testimony given by the victims, which include multiple minors.
While the campaign last year, Trump has promised to release files related to the disgraced financier.
However, Bondi has announced last week that The US Department of Justice did not believe that Epstein has a so -called customer list This could intervene with high -ranking associates and that he had taken his life – despite conspiracies because of his death.
He came after Bondi advertised that she was ready to announce major revelations on the case, including “many names” and “many flights” – nods to those traveling with the financing or visited his private islands, where many of his alleged crimes have happened.
Its conversion caused a fierce response from dozens of Trump’s most ardent supporters who called on Bondi to resign after failing to submit the list for which Trump’s employees had previously claimed to have.
Conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, who has been critical of the processing of the file administration in recent days, praised Trump’s course.
“It’s massive. It’s something we’ve been talking about for a long time and really power for the low,” he said.
Epstein died in a prison cell in New York in 2019 while expecting a lawsuit on sex trafficking. His death, while imprisoned, has happened more than a decade after his conviction of attracting prostitution by a minor for whom he is registered as a sexual criminal.
The directive came shortly after Trump said he would sue the Wall Street Journal newspaper for publishing an article stating that a “friendly” birthday greeting bearing the Trump name was sent to Epstein in 2003 before the late financier was charged with sexual crimes.
The letter, which the newspaper claims to have been sent on Epstein’s 50th birthday, was defined by Trump as “fake”.
In a publication, Trump said that the newspaper and owner Rupert Murdoch “were warned directly” that they would be tried if they print the story, describing it as “false, malicious and defamatory.”
According to The Wall Street Journal, a letter bearing the name of Trump “contains several lines of writing text, a frame of the outline of a naked woman who seems to have been drawn by hand with a heavy marker.”
“Inside the naked woman, there was a writing note shaped like an imaginary conversation between Trump and Epstein written by a third party,” the document reports.
The letter, according to the Wall Street Journal, claims to end with the words: “The Pala is a wonderful thing. Happy birthday – and every day can be another wonderful secret.”
“These are not my words, not the way I speak. Also, I do not draw pictures,” Trump said on social media in response to the story.
According to the newspaper, the letter was part of a compilation of birthday greetings, which was collected by Epstein’s associate Ghislaine Maxwell. Maxwell was sentenced in 2021 for helping Epstein for sexual trafficking children and sentenced to 20 years in prison.
