More than 7 million Canadians have submitted their ballots in advance, setting a new record for early turnout, says the election in Canada.
The pre -sections were open across the country for four days, from Friday to Monday, on Easter long weekend. Poll workers report long lines, with two million people throwing their ballots last Friday.
At less than one week before the election day on April 28, federal leaders are already in the last section of the campaign.
The voters will look at which party should run the country against the background of the ongoing trade war with the US and the repeated Gibbs of President Donald Trump to turn Canada into the 51st US State.
Ghetto imagesThe Canada Election, the organization that holds federal elections, said that 7.3 million Canadians – about a quarter of the voters eligible – had filed their ballots, noting a 25% increase in the early votes of the previous elections in 2021.
Mail vote is also increasing, with over 754,000 returning their special ballots to the Federal Agency. This is more than 660,000 that made it in 2021
Recent studies suggest that the liberals have a 5 -point lead over the opposition’s main conservative party as the campaign enters its last section.
Liberal leader Mark Carney held events on Prince Edward Island and Quebec, while conservative leader Pierre Polver had a rally in Vaughn, a suburb of Toronto, on Tuesday night.
Carney, the former central banker of Canada and the United Kingdom, has declared his party the best option to deal with Trump and his tariffs.
“Pierre Polyver has no plan to face President Trump,” Carney told supporters on Tuesday.
The President of the United States has executed a blanket of 25% tariffs for Canada goods, with the release of products covered by USMCA – a free trade transaction in North America.
Canada is also affected by global US steel and aluminum and cars.
The northern state is making the bigger part of its trade with the US and the tariffs have already led to thousands of temporary cuts in the Canada Automobile Sector.
The victory for the liberals will mark a dramatic turn of luck for the party, which was held at only 20%when former Liberal leader and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced his resignation in late January.
Their main rivals, the Conservatives, focused their campaign on the Canadians’ desire for change after nine years of leadership in Trudeau.
At rallies and events throughout the country, Poiliev has joined issues such as housing, crime and high costs of life, while criticizing liberals to overcome the government.
“It is time for the government to start pinching a penny,” Polver said on Tuesday as he revealed his party’s platform before adding, “We can choose a change. We can choose hope. We can choose our future.”
The polls suggest that the Quebecos Block, a party for separatism in Quebec, which leads only candidates in the French -speaking province, ranks third, with fourth place on the left of the new Democratic Party.
