Eight killed in Kyiv’s attack, says Zelenski

Eight people were killed in Kiev, including a child, after a severe Russian bombing overnight, Ukraine President Volodimir Zelenski said on Thursday.

Interior Minister Ihor Klimenko told Telegram that the dead included two children, while Kiev Mayor Vitaly Klitschko said at least 38 were injured in the “massive” attack of drones and rocket.

In a statement by X Zelenski, the Kremlin chose “ballistics instead of the negotiation table” and repeated Russia’s “new, difficult sanctions”.

The wave of rockets comes after over 100,000 Ukrainian homes were left without energy from Russian drone attacks against energy infrastructure on Wednesday.

In a publication on Telegram Timur Tkachenko, the head of the Kiev military administration, said one of the killed children was a 14-year-old girl. At least five children were injured in the last drones.

He noted that more than 20 areas were directed, such as many buildings, including kindergarten, were ignited.

Three and a half years after the full -scale invasion of Russia in Ukraine, the battle of the Earth shows no signs of retreat.

The latest international efforts to end the fire in Ukraine were started by US President Donald Trump earlier this month. He met his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Alaska and Zelenski with European leaders in Washington.

Trump insists on a meeting at the top of Putin-Zelenski. The President of Ukraine supported this move, but he sought guarantees of security from Western allies to prevent a future Russian attack in the event of a peaceful deal.

On Tuesday, Zelenski met with the head of the Armed Forces of the UK Adm Tony Radakin in Kiev, where they discussed their efforts to end the war.

The US Special Envoy Steve Vikoff said he would meet with Ukrainian representatives in New York this week, telling Fox News “We’re talking to the Russians every day.”

EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kalas warned that the transmission of Ukrainian territory to Russia as part of a peaceful deal was a “trap”.
