Eleven Palestinians seeking help were among at least 33 killed by Israeli firing and strikes at Gaza on Wednesday, say rescuers and medics.

A spokesman for the Hamas Civil Protection Agency said the Israeli forces “opened fire and began a few shells” to thousands of people queuing for desperately needed food supplies on Salah Al-Din.

The Israeli military said troops operating in the Nusherat region launched warning shots overnight after a group approached them in a way that poses a potential threat, but that it was not aware of injuries.

Another 19 people were killed in three Israeli air strikes in the northern and southern Gaza, according to the Civil Protection Agency.

They included eight that died when the home was hit in the Zeitun area in Gaza, the statement said.

As for air strikes, Israeli military said it “operates to dismantle Hamas military capabilities” on the territory.

The Hamas Ministry of Health in Gaza said on Wednesday afternoon that at least 140 people had been killed in the previous 24 hours.

The ministry announced on Tuesday that 51 people had been killed while waiting for help in the southern town of Han Eunice while the UN quotes partner organizations working on health, putting the death of the death of more than 60.

Eyewitnesses told the BBC that Israeli tanks and drones were opening fire as crowds gathered near a charity community center and a warehouse belonging to the UN World Program.

The Israeli military admitted that his troops were in the area and said the details of the incident had been considered.

In a separate incident on Tuesday, the Civil Protection Agency said the other seven people seeking help had been killed and many others were injured on Rashid Northwest Street of Gaza.

A doctor at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza, Reuters, that the victims were the result of Israeli air strikes and that the injuries were caused by firing.

Umm Fida Masood said her son “went to bring a bag of flour and returned (wounded) to a bag.”

Meanwhile, a local journalist publishes footage that they said they had shown cousin celebrates him after collecting a bag of flour for his familyS

“A 50 kg bag. I pulled it from under the truck, inches from death,” he said.

Almost 400 people were killed while trying to receive help from May 26, when the US -backed Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) has opened the first of its three distribution center, according to the Ministry of Health.

GHF, which uses US private security performers, aims to circumvent the UN as a major supplier to assist 2.1 million Palestinians in Gaza.

The UN and other help groups refuse to cooperate with the new system, saying that it contradicts the humanitarian principles of neutrality, impartiality and independence.

They also warn that Gaza’s population faces catastrophic starvation levels after a total of 11-week Israeli blockade, which was partially relieved a month ago.

The US and Israel say that the GHF system will prevent the help of being stolen by Hamas, which the group denies.

On Wednesday, the head of the United Nations Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) condemned him as “lame, medieval and deadly.”

“The invitation of starving people to their death is a war crime. The answers to this system must be held accountable,” writes Philip Lazarini to X.

“It’s a shame and a spot on our collective consciousness.”

GHF has not commented, but a statement said he has spread 30 million meals in his three distribution centers “without incidents” so far.

“We remain focused on a single mission: to feed the Gaza people – and we are committed to scale our efforts to reach even more in need,” she added.

In the meantime, WFP warned that the 9,000 tonnes of nutrition she had sent in the last four weeks is a “small part” of the necessary in Gaza.

He also stated that the desperate need for food has caused large crowds to gather on well -known transport routes, hoping to capture and have access to humanitarian supplies while in transit.

“Only a large scale of food distribution can stabilize the situation, calm anxiety and restore confidence in communities that more food is coming,” the statement said.

The Israeli military organ COGAT announced that 85 truck loads entered the southern and northern gas through Kerem Shalom and Erez West Crossings on Tuesday, 66 of which were collected. Another 380 truck loads were waiting for a UN collection, the message said.

The Israeli military launched a campaign in Gaza in response to an attack led by Hamas against southern Israel on October 7, 2023, which killed about 1,200 people and 251 others were hostage.

Since then, at least 55 637 people have been killed in Gaza, according to the health ministry in the territory.
