Brian Wilson, the lead singer, composer and front of Beach Boys, died at the age of 82, his family announced.

In a statement shared online, they said they were “broken” by his death and demanded a privacy.

The stands of fans and musicians saw him as an icon, genius and pioneer.

Born and raised in California, the musician brought the surf to the world with songs like I Come, Surfin ‘USA and good vibrations.

Brian Wilson married Marilyn Rovel in 1964. The singer of the entirely women’s band The Honeys, Rovell divorced Wilson in 1981 after his widely documented struggles with drug use. Later marries Melinda Ledbetter, who died in 2024.
