Australian actor Julian McMahon, known for roles in popular series such as Nip/Tuck and Charmed, has died at the age of 56.

His wife told him that the actor had died in Clearwater, Florida, on Wednesday. He was diagnosed with cancer.

“Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his work and loved his fans. His deepest desire was to bring joy to as many lives as possible,” says Kelly Panyagua in a statement worn.

McMahon’s career flew with the hit supernatural television series, fascinated before receiving a broader recognition with NIP/Tuck, the medical drama in which he plays the role of plastic surgeon Dr Christian Troy.

Running for six seasons from 2003 to 2010, his show won a golden globe nomination.

Co-star Dylan Walsh told Dilin that he was “stunned.”

“We rode this wave together and loved it.

“Jules! I know you would like to say something to make you smile – all the inner jokes. In all those years you had my back, and God, we laughed. My heart is with you. Rest in peace.”

McMahon also played Doctor Doom in two fantastic four films in 2005 and 2007, and later appeared in three seasons of the FBI: the most sought after.

Dick Wolf, the FBI producer: The most desirable, said that McMahon’s death was “shocking news.”

McMahon was the son of a former Australian prime minister and continued to play the role of the Australian prime minister in the Netflix residence – one of his latest appearances.

McMahon married three times – the first of the Australian singer -actress Dani Minogue, sister of Kylie Minogue.
