Filmmaker David Lynch has died aged 78, his family has announced

David Lynch, the writer and director whose works include Mulholland Drive and Twin Peaks, has died aged 78.

Lynch’s death was announced on his Facebook page by his family.

“There is a big hole in the world now that he is no longer with us,” the post said.

“But, as he used to say, ‘Keep your eye on the donut, not the hole.’ … The day is beautiful with golden sunshine and blue skies all the way.”
