At least 40 people were killed in an attack on a camp for displaced people in the Western Darfur in Sudan, according to a help group that works there.
Abu Shuk’s emergency room said the attack on Monday was carried out by RSF forces (RSF). The Resistance Committee in the nearby city of El-Fashire, made up of local citizens and activists, also announced it.
El-Fasher, who also fell under an intense attack, is the last major support in Darfur for the army and his allies, fighting the paramilitary RSF in the two-year Civil War.
The conflict caused a humanitarian crisis with the UN warning Families caught in a trap in the besieged city facing starvingS
The Sudanese media reported that the camp was caught in the cross fire of the battles in El-Fasher.
But the Abu Shuk Help Group, where at least 200,000 people live, said some of the killed in the attack were shot in their homes while others were shot in public.
A US -based organization that analyzes satellite images and videos has said it has identified a large grouping of 40 light vehicles in the northwestern camp, which seems to confirm reports that the attack is coming from the north.
The Humanitarian Studies Laboratory in Yale added that he was investigating images and videos, “allegedly showing that RSF shoots in people crawling from them and beats and uses ethnic rumors.”
The camp was created more than two decades ago by non -Arab community people – including the coat and warms – who run away from Janjaweed police attacks.
RSF has its origin from this notorious militia, which has been accused of performing genocide.
The paramilitary group was also widely accused of ethnic cleansing in Darfur during this war, and the United States sanctioned it with accusations of genocide.
Previously, RSF denied such accusations, saying it was not part of what he called tribal conflicts.
The Zees warri joined the army in defense of El-Fasher, so it is possible that RSF can be directed to deliberate civilian civilians in the camp.
Camps for displaced people near El-Fashire are often attacked during the war.
In April, More than 100 people were killed and thousands fled the Zamzam camp Because RSF took it and took it.
After the conflict began in April 2023, tens of thousands of people were killed, 12 million were forced by their homes, and in parts of the country were declared hunger.
