Four found dead after rescue operation

Four people were killed after a six -storey building, which was partially repaired collapsed in the center of the Spanish capital Madrid.

The mayor of the city, Jose Luis Martinez -Almaya, said the bodies of the last two of the people reported that they had been restored Wednesday morning – about 15 hours after several floors in the property on Hilleras Street collapsed.

Local media have said the victims are a 30-year-old Spanish woman who manages the project, as well as three male workers from Mali, Guinea and Ecuador, between the ages of 30 and 50. Another three people were injured.

The former office block was turning into a hotel. Authorities have begun an investigation.

The Spanish emergency services said several crews – with drones and supply dogs – were located to look for the disappearance after the collapse on Tuesday.

Two of the bodies were restored on Tuesday night.

“All our love and support go to their families, friends and colleagues at this very difficult time,” says Martinez-Almeida in a post of X.

A construction worker told Reuters news agency that it pumps concrete into the lower floors of the building outside when the building collapses and fled after seeing a large cloud of dust.

The facade of the building remained intact despite the internal collapse.

According to the website of the developer Rehbilita, the building has undergone a “comprehensive” repair to work as a four -star hotel.
