We have heard from the BBC all week from people in gas about their lives, as food supplies are limited, leading to malnutrition and hunger.

The BBC is not allowed to report from inside Gaza – because the Israeli government will not allow us – so we rely on reliable freelancers to provide us with material. But this week, news organizations – including the BBC – have warned that lack of food means that these freelancers are increasingly unable to feed themselves and their families.

The Israeli government, which controls the entry of all supplies into Gaza – say that the hunger is not their fault and blames Hamas for theft of food. Most international help organizations say Israel is the one who fails the population. As the occupation power, under international law, Israel has a legitimate responsibility to protect the population from hunger and hunger.

We have compared the stories of some of those who have told us and images of the week – this report contains images of malnourished children.
