Google now lets kids use Google Wallet for in-store payments in select countries

Google Declaration Children with Android phones on Wednesday can now tap the US, UK, Australia, Spain and Poland to tap to pay for stores using Google Wallet. Parents and parents of these countries can now allow their children to access digital payments on their Android devices.

Children can also use Google Wallet to access supported passes such as event tickets, library cards and gift cards.

Google note that any payment card can only be added to parents’ consent and parents will receive an email whenever their child makes a transaction. Also, parents can track their child’s recent purchases, remove payment cards and turn off access to passes, family links, Google’s parent control app.

It is noteworthy that kids will not be able to use Google Wallet to pay for online purchases.

To get started, a child and their parents need to navigate the wallet app on the child’s Android phone and add the “wallet” to the bottom left of the screen. Then, they need to select the “payment card” option and tap the “new credit or debit card”.

The app will then induce parents to verify whether parents login to their Google account. Then they may add a credit or debit card. Once they do this, the Wallet app may start using the baby in-stor purchase.

The launch is not as surprising as Google Declaration Last month it will introduce the feature in this spring. Google has not commented when the feature was asked about the plan to expand the region.

With today’s announcement, Google is catching Apple, which allows you to use Apple Pay to purchase kids in-stor Apple Cash Family Service.
