Pedestrian crossings in several areas of Northern California have been hacked with false greetings, mocking the technology billionaires Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg.

Silicon valley officials are investigating and deactivated the audio function of the intersections, which usually plays “walking” or “wait” instructions.

The surprising message was noticed over the weekend in Palo Alto, Redwood City and Menlo Park – which is home to Zuckerberg’s scattered meta campus.

A musk embodiment suggested that passing pedestrians to be in Tesla Cybertruck if he agrees to be his friend. Another of the fake Zuckerberg said “they really call me Zuk.”

It is not yet clear who created the messages or how they are eventually played from intersections.

Officials in the affected areas, which are all south of San Francisco, told the BBC engineers to investigate how the crossings are forged.

Pedro Quintana, a spokesman for the California Department of Transport (Kaltrans), said about 10 pedestrian crossings in the regions of Park Menlo and the areas of Palo Alto were influenced.

All of them are now working on a timer system and the buttons that launched counterfeit messages are disabled, he said.

Communications appear in the Silicon Valley, where both technology billionaires have a business.

One of the false messages in Musk’s voice He welcomes the people in Palo Alto, who is home to TELSA operations.

“You know, they say that money can’t buy happiness and … I guess it’s true. God knows I’ve tried,” says a video shared repeatedly on social media.

One of the fake Zuckerberg begins with him, who introduces himself before discussing the insertion of AI “in every side of your conscious experience.”

No person has commented on the incident.

The town of Palo Alto separately told the BBC that at least 12 crossings in the city center were forged.

Megan Horigan-Teler, a city spokesman, said another city employee signaled employees about the issue on Saturday when they noticed that the voice function was not functioning properly. She added that employees believe that seasoning may have happened on Friday.

“The city’s employees have disabled the sound function until more repairs could be made,” she said. “Other traffic signals in the city were checked and the impact was isolated.”

Local media also reported that several crossings in the Redwood area were also hacked to sound like the two billionaires.
