Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said the talks would start “this week”.
He said that Israel “would not accept Hamas’s continued presence or other terrorist organization in Gaza,” but said Israel could prolong the cessation of fire if the discussions were productive.
“If we see that there is a constructive dialogue with a possible horizon to reach an agreement (then), we will do this time with a time frame for longer,” Saar said.
