The homes of two Minesota state legislators were directed at firing early on Saturday morning, CBS News reported, BBC’s US partner reported.
They were the homes of State Senator John Hoffman and Minnesota House President Emeryta Melissa Hortman, as well as the Democratic Farm Party (DFL), in Champlin and Brooklyn Park, neighboring cities near the Minneapolis.
It is not clear who was shot in the homes or their condition, CBS reported.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walze said earlier that “target shootings” had taken place.
The Brooklyn Park Police Department has issued a three -mile (4.8 km) shelter order from the Golf Course in Edinburgh.
Zack Lindstrom, the mayor of nearby mounds, said the selected employees had received a “safety signal”.
Authorities warn people in the area not to respond to their door for a police officer, unless there are two employees together, local Outlet Fox reported.
Mayor Lindstrom told X that he had heard that the suspect was someone who posed as an “officer and they were not caught.”
Walz told X that the authorities “follow the situation” closely “and he activated the State Emergency Operations Center – used to manage disasters or emergencies.
