Honda and its luxurious brand Acura EV owners are ready to join the growing list of automackers who supplies Access to the Tesler Supercharger Network In North America.
Starting in June, the owners of the Honda Proolog and Aqua JDX electric vehicles will be able to charge at Tesla stations. These EVs are built with CCS charging ports – not the technology that Tesla uses. This means that Honda and Acura customers will have to buy the Honda-approved fast-charging adapters from the dealership. Automaker has not yet shared the details about the price determination.
Honda said the proposes and ZDX owners will be notified in Hondalink and Acura EV apps while available to buy adapters. Applications will also display the location of the approved supercharger location.
Honda agreed to accept Tesla’s charging value in 2021, otherwise NACS (North American Charging Standard). At that time Honda said that it would release a new EV model in 2025 built with NACS Standard.
TechCrunch reached Honda for an update timeline. Other automakers, including access to Tesla Superchargers, include Ford, General Motors, Lucid, Rivian and more.
